#UGBlogMonth Day 16: My religious views.

Hey there.

I hope you had an amazing day. Mine was fabulous. God reminded me of His love and I’m grateful for that.

So today was an either-or prompt and since I’m politically independent, I’d rather go with what my religious views are. http://ugbloc.com/ugblogmonth-april-may-2020/

Its so amazing that just today, I was listening to a spoke word piece that my friend did sometime entitled, ‘Let me introduce you to my Jesus’, and towards the end, she says that ‘If Jesus in the Bible said that the world will hate you; the disciples, if you follow me, then why is it that today people are famous for knowing Jesus?’ There’s definitely a missing link to that but that’s a discussion for another day.

My sentiments towards religions are very subtly oppositional. When someone asks what religious sect do you follow or subscribe to I’m very reluctant to say Anglican under Christianity because then, it shows some form of division even amongst those in the church, for example; just Christians have over 6 different divisional sects, and we haven’t even gotten to the Buddhists and Muslims. So, religion to me is an undeserving title to be used to define beliefs in the maker of the universe.

I therefore subscribe to the school of thought that if a person believes in His heart and confesses with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, then He will be saved and be accepted in the Kingdom of God. These days, the cheap popularity that has come with Christianity and knowing Christ is based on the consumption of believers of words spoken to them by self-acclaimed men of God and devotionals written to ease their interpretations of the Bible. What amazes me the most, is that people won’t be devoted to studying the source of life which is the word of God, and from which flows humanity and the world, but will be devoted to YouTube channels and daily devotionals helping them to interpret the word.

As believers in Christ, our source of information should be the Bible. Yes, preachers and pastors aid in the fellowship with God but individually, let the spirit lead you and help you to understand the word of God better, and not a human being’s interpretation of what God is saying. Let Him speak to you. Seek Him, knock and He will surely open the doors to all areas in your life. (Matthew 6:33).

As much as I’d want to go on and on, I feel like that is enough to show you what my religious thoughts and views are.

Thank you very much for entertaining my thoughts and keeping constant with me through these last 16 days.

Stay blessed.

  1. I agree people should read the Bible more, than let others do it for them, we are past the days when the church used to burn people for reading the Bible
